Browsers & Standards

This site has been built with every effort to adhere to Web standards as described by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). Nearly all pages have been validated according to those specifications. However, due to the nature of external links and placed advertising, not all pages are as standards-compliant as we would like.

With this in mind, J Rations strongly recommends the use of a modern, standards-compliant browser to fully appreciate the site’s benefits and to enhance site-wide usability. Of today’s available browsers, Internet Explorer is the least cooperative and has inherent security risks. Although we make every effort possible for viewing in Internet Explorer, some pages will not look or work as they do on a compliant browser.

We suggest a visit to Browse Happy for more information on IE’s security risks and a look at browser options available for your operating system and browsing pleasure.

Cookies, Javascript & Popup Windows

The J Rations Web site uses cookies (see Privacy Policies), javascript and popup windows (for editorial purposes only). These features must be enabled in your browser to use the full features of the site.

External Links & New Windows

This site does not open external links in a new window/tab. This is a Web Age battle as to what is correct. The decision at J Rations is to let the user open links in a new window or tab (or not). If you wish to open an external link in a new window or tab and do not know how to do so, please consult your browser’s help section.

Quick Rules of Thumb:
PC: Right-click the link and choose Open in New Window/Tab or hold the control key and click the link.

Mac: Hold down the Apple/command key and click the link.

Reporting Site Problems

Please report any problems viewing or using the various sections and pages to the webmaster.

Accessibility

As with Web standards, every effort is being made to make J Rations’ Web pages accessible to all. In this regard, we must say…we’re working on it. Believing firmly that honesty is the best policy, we admit that more work needs to be done on this front and that we are committed to doing just that.

We are currently working on low-vision Web pages to better serve all readers. These pages will be implemented as the site progresses through its flight stage. Please bear with us as we strive to make this Web site usable by all Jeep® enthusiasts.
